One of the most expected moments of the 20th Intercoiffure World Congress was
the Gala Show with presentations staged by professionals from Japan, Italy, Brazil,
and Klaus Peter Ochs, president of Intercoiffure Mondial.
The show “Elegance” staged by Intercoiffure Japan

and general direction by Miwako Moriya opened the Gala Show. The blend haute-couture
and contemporary hairstyles, the largest delegation at the event showed sophisticated
buns in hues of blonde and dark brown, and well structured curls.
One of the most touching and applauded performances at the Gala Show was that
of the Intercoiffure Italy, under the theme “As time comes
by” recounting the history of fashion, beauty, and the concepts of hairdos
using time regression: 20th to 17th centuries. To the music of famous sound tracks
and images of films that marked generations, hairstylists Tullio Talia, Pasquale
Giallonardo, Roberto Paggi, Luigi Magnifico, Fabrizio Di Carlo, Emiliano Tulimiero,
Alessandra Carrer, Alain Frazzitta, Alessandro Consiglio, Carlo Alberto Rossi,
with the choreography of Francesco Pirozzi and general direction of Massimiliano
Ottolini, fixed the hair and dressed model Maria Gazia Toccaceli with white costumes
that portrayed accurately each period.
The five looks created received cheerful and touched applauses from all the audience.
Color, glitter, creativity and plenty of culture. That was what the Exotic

César Augusto, Léia Ávila, Ivaldo Lima, Célio Faria,
Hugo Moser and Maurício Pina embraced the audience of professionals of
all around the world with enthralling rhythms and exotic looks with dramatic makeup.
”Exotic” showed that Brazil is a source of creativity and rich with
styles and innovating concepts in hairstyles fashion.
The president of Intercoiffure Mondial, Klaus Peter Ochs,
topped off the ICD – Rio 2008 Gala Shows. With the theme “Fashion
Diamonds” the hairstylist launched fashion concepts for Afro and curled
hair. Inspiration came from the divas of the cinema and the styles showed sensuality
and practicality in 18 looks.
