At the end of August, directors of Hair Brasil and Intercoiffure Brazil promoted
in São Paulo, a Seminar to integrate the teams involved in the organization
of the 20th Intercoiffure World Congress – ICD Rio 2008. The event is being
eagerly expected and should bring together around 800 hairdressers from 53 countries
in the city of Rio de Janeiro, on May 18th to 20th 2008.
Two worldwide sponsors of the Congress – L’Oréal Professionnel
and Wella – participated in the seminar, as well as the main partners of
the project, responsible for the major infrastructure setup at the hotel InterContinental
Rio (event venue) and at the Sugar Loaf, where the big congress shows will be
staged.
Over 30 professionals involved with the preparation of ICD Rio 2008 participated
in the seminar headed by J. Francisco Dos Santos (president of Hair Brasil and
of the 20th Intercoiffure World Congress), Waleska Santos (vice-president) and
Jeferson Santos, general director of the event.
The presentations encompassed comprehensive and detailed explanations on all the
steps of the project (starting with the launching of the congress to date) as
well as all the actions that will be developed until next May.
Also attending the seminar was the president of Intercoiffure Brazil, Jacques
Goossens, accompanied by directors of the entity. The two worldwide sponsors were
represented by Evandro Monteiro (manager, MKT and Selective Brands by Wella Professionals)
and Richard Klevenhusen (director of L’Oréal Professionnel trade
marketing).
Also present were Christian Delcroix, delegate of Intercoiffure Mondial for Latin
America; João Araújo, representing the department of promotion and
tourism marketing of the Government of the State of Amazonas and Yeda Maria Bezerra
de Oliveira, from the Government of Amazonas agency in São Paulo.

The world of coiffure
From May 18th to 20th 2008, Intercoiffure World Congress – ICD Rio 2008
will attract to Brazil all the attentions of the world of coiffure. The event
will feature plenary meetings of the several directing committees of the entity,
topped by an international megashow (Prestige Shows of the World), with over 24
shows presented by hairstylist from Europe, United States, Asia and Latin America.
“Since 2003 we have been working and living the daily routine of the preparations
for the ICD Rio 2008, aiming at turning this Congress into the best ever seen”,
highlighted J. Francisco Dos Santos.
Jacques Goossens, president of Intercoiffure Brazil, reasserted the enormous expectation
created around the event. “The 20th Intercoiffure World Congress will be
a moment to remember. We have a highly competent team working to carry out a congress
that will be a major moment of exchange information and worldwide professional
networking”.
Christian Delcroix, delegate of Intercoiffure Mondial for Latin America declared:

The general director of Hair Brasil, Jeferson Santos, introduced the management
team of ICD Rio 2008 and stressed that over 100 professionals are involved directly
or indirectly with the event.

beauty and hair care industry giants are the exclusive sponsors of 20th Intercoiffure
World Congress.
Evandro Monteiro, manager, MKT and Selective Brands by Wella Professionals, recalled
that this is the first time that Wella and L’Oréal work together.

to attend the Congress.
